Social Distance: The Musical is a brand new musical theater show that was designed to be taught and recorded online, during this crazy time when many of us aren’t able to meet together or sing together. In Social Distance, the students of a small Christian high school are excited for their biggest social event of the year … but a worldwide pandemic puts everything on hold and tests their faith. The show's fun songs, humor, and encouragement will brighten this difficult season for your cast and for your audience. Your cast will swing along to “Spring Swing Dance,” sing the blues in “NON-event,” learn Scripture by heart in “Be Kind,” and more! The experience of creating a musical movie with your theater group or choir will be unforgettable!

Wondering if your group could actually make a musical movie, when you’ve never done it before? Yes – if we can do it, so can you! As long as your students have web cams, phones, and internet access, and as long as you can find a video editor to help you put your media clips together, you can make a movie. Our unique Social Distance: The Musical production package is packed with resources to help you!

This 30-minute musical movie is created for 10-16 high school students, but could accommodate more with additional vocal and dance ensembles. The show offers 5 female roles and 3 male roles, with several other roles – including newscasters and the school principal -- for either gender. You could involve a larger cast by using different ensemble groups for the full cast songs and choreography (instead of using the same students for every song). The music is SAB or 2-part (male/female) for full cast songs.
